A significant increase in public expenditure, driven by economic growth, has occurred in India and subsequently in Jammu and Kashmir. The capital expenditure level has also surged manifold which in turn has resulted in a growing demand for real time monitoring and evaluation (M&E) mechanism/ management.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is a continuous process to assess the progress in achieving the expected set results, to spot bottlenecks in implementation/ execution and suggest the remedial measures.
There is an urgent need and huge scope to strengthen the Monitoring Mechanism in bringing more transparency, accountability and ensuring improvement in quality work and for that matter, DIMP (District Integrated Monitoring Portal) has been intiated
